PAST WORK
SAN FRAN KITCHEN
The original Kitchen was stuck in the late 90's early 2000s. This was also the one room in the home that trim was missing in some places and didn't feel as connected to the rest of the home. We brought trim elements to make it feel connected while playing with more modern and current cabinets. I feel it blends the Victorian with today perfectly.
DARIZEN
This Spa was a renovation of an old doctors office within an old house. My client wanted to create a serene space. Inspired by Wabi Sabi design. To bring nature into the space, with texture, natural colors and organic forms. All at the same time keeping with the ADA compliance with in the small but purposeful space.

ABOUT
Madeline Claire Mauk
While I was growing up, my dad was the head chef of his own Mexican restaurant. He lived by the idea that the sky was the limit for making our home and his restaurant unique and fun. One of my fondest and earliest design memories is working together to decoupage the fridge in the kitchen with the coffee table book that had hundreds of famous pieces of art. Our fridge became art education. I'll never forget the day he decided to change out all of the kitchen knobs for those plastic key chain dice that were popular in the 90's. Obviously, as a kid, I thought that was the coolest thing ever. To this day his eclectic style inspires my designs.
I received a BFA in Figure Drawing from Ohio Wesleyan University, which led me to work full-time on my art after college. While making art, I decided I also needed more steady income and, having always loved homes as well as art, I worked to become a realtor. While being a realtor taught me many valuable lessons about home ownership, design and desirability, I missed the creativity in my daily life. Finding what I now know to be the perfect outlet for uniting my passions, I went back to school for Interior Design. I now have my degree in Interior Design and, while in school, had the wonderful opportunity to turn an internship into a career working with Calla Studio in Norwalk from 2019 to 2020. Then from 2021 February to October 2022 I worked at Virgina Tupker. Marina Hanisch Interiors I worked there from October 2022 to Septmeber 2024

With this real-world work experience, my education, a head full of ideas and a heart full of inspiration, with art and design degrees, realtor knowledge of the area and a life spent designing, I am your triple threat and I would love to work with you. True to my childhood with my dad, my designs reflect my love for color and being unique, creating a sense of wonder all while understanding the balance of functionality with the needs of your design.
